When UK postcodes are entered into our system, we have an automated background system that looks up an external 'geocoding' service, to convert a postcode into map co-ordinates (latitude + longitude values).

This works just fine in most cases; there are some exceptions:

- postcodes for the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are not made available to any geocoding services, for obscure commercial reasons
- postcodes which are actually a PO Box cannot be converted into map co-ordinates, because a PO Box can be anywhere

If you have queries about this, contact us with the correct co-ordinates, as we are able to add map co-ordinates 'manually'.
