Club administrators and
Competition administrators aren't able to change the name of a club; you need to ask us by emailing us at info@fixtureslive.com.
The reason for this is that we need to check to make sure that other data on the system is safeguarded.
A lot depends on whether the change is a 'minor' or 'major' change.
For example, if you want to change the club name from "Newtown" to "Phoenix", this would be a 'major' name change, as there is clearly no continuity between the two; changing the name from "Newtown" to "Newtown (Essex)" would be regarded as a 'minor' change - though we still would need to check for possible duplicates.
If the club has taken part in past league competitions, and if the name change is a major one, we need to consider how best to proceed, in order to preserve past competition data.
This may involve closing the old club, and creating a new one, with a range of issues about the handling of memberships, administration rights, player registrations, and so on.
